Research Description
While it is recognised that tobacco misuse has serious health implications for the Aboriginal population, there is a worrying lack of representation from the Aboriginal community in the current dialogue around tobacco control research and practice. The objectives of this pilot are to bring together groups currently working in Aboriginal tobacco control to share materials, resources and experiences; to ensure that the resulting CoP is consistent with principles of Aboriginal self-determination; to develop best practices for all tobacco researchers to work within Aboriginal communities; to create reciprocity of knowledge, practice and respect.
