Minister Terry Lake says it's time to consider raising the legal age in B.C. to purchase tobacco from 19 to 21. Lake cited a study that saw smoking rates in high school students decrease 47 per cent after the legal age was raised.
BC health advocates are commending the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for its new ruling requiring all U.S. public housing agencies to implement smoke-free policies over the next 18 months.
